Customer's finished basement required a means of exterior egress. Custom design and creativity provided a solution that met building code requirements and complimented the architectural details of the existing structure.
The home owners wanted full tear-out new construction wood window replacements, but given the existing window openings, custom sizes would have been required. We decided on a standard size Ply Gem MIRA window; however the new windows were slightly more narrow and shorter than the original windows. In order to save the existing siding and pass along considerable savings to the customer, we added exterior composite trim and window heads. The extra architectural detail provided by this solution added a whole new dimension to this two story farm house. To complete the make-over, we installed a new Therma Tru Smooth Star front door with factory paint, vinyl jambs and brick molding. We also installed a Larson storm door.
